Granular Media Pressure Filters
Enprotec designs and builds its own multimedia filter using the proprietary triple cell concept. This design has the benefit of numerous applications and an extensive history of reliability. The triple cell concept consists of three separate filter cells each with high efficiency media with up to 5 layers of media size. These systems are designed to provide a high solid loading before backwash is required with design removals of 90% of 20µ particles or greater. During backwash filtered effluent from two of the cells is used to backwash the third cell until all cells are backwashed. The filter system automatically recycles filter effluent back to the feed tank in order to allow the filter to run continuously. The backwash water can be directed to the head of the treatment process for retreatment, to a sludge holding tank for hauling or dewatering or direct to a sewer for discharge depending on the make up of the solids.
Enprotec manufactures a full range of filtration systems designed for:
- Metal hydroxide precipitation polishing
- Algae
- Silt
- Cooling tower recycle
- Potable water
Equipment includes:
- Flows from 10 gpm to over 1500 gpm
- Fiberglass roving with bonded polyethylene inner tank shell
- Skid Mounted, Full Package System
- 150 psi Pressure Rating
- 100° F Temperature Rating
- Automatic Valves and Control System
- Automatic Backwash Control

The Triple Cell Filter System is typically used for polishing the final effluent after clarification. Suspended solids removal is generally greater than 90%. The filter is a multi-granular media, automatic backwash, depth solids storage filter that can handle high solids loading for short periods. The triple cell filter operates continually with system filtrate used to backwash each of the three cells.
Extremely low backwash volumes are required. Typically less than 1% of the daily filtered volume is used for backwash. Systems are completely self-contained, factory prefabricated and skid mounted for simple connection to air and electric.
